JOHNNY MUSUMECI

Welcome to Aspire Boxing Health & Fitness.  I am a Hunter Valley based wellness coach. My passion is to help everyday people achieve their fitness goals in a way which fits into their lifestyle, so they can maintain this for life. 

​

I am a qualified health professional & have been in the fitness industry since 2007. I was overweight for most of my life and lost nearly 30kg before I became a wellness coach. I totally understand what it's like to live an unhealthy life.

​

I have created a support group for clients, The Aspire Groupies, and I welcome you to join. It is a safe & fun space working to share insight, keep you focused on your short & long-term goals and keep you motivated.

​

I can help you achieve your health and fitness goals and maintain it for the rest of your life, but also have fun with your journey along the way.

In July 2017 I needed help and began training with Johnny due to his personal and uncomplicated approach to fitness. I had put on 15kg since my first weight loss journey back in 2005 and felt I needed to regain control of my body during a very difficult time in my life.

Johhny’s philosophy for me was diet first combined with a different approach to training that brought the fun back with variations of strength and cardio workouts. Johnny is incredibly supportive and as time past I felt like my friend was helping me on my journey rather than a hired hand. This connection was a massive key to achieving my weight loss goal of sub 80kg and more importantly being back in control of me.


I can not thank Johnny enough for all he has done for me and would recommend him to anyone looking to achieve their fitness goals in an uncomplicated and enjoyable fashion

Hi, I’m Amanda. I started my journey in May 2017, weighing in at 126.9 kilos. Wearing size 24/26. With no energy and no motivation.

I signed up as a client to the most amazing personal trainer ever. Before this I had not considered joining a gym and thought of exercise as a danger to my health and too much effort to contemplate. It was a lot of hard work, some days I just wanted to give up. However with the support and encouragement of Johnny I kept going. He motivates and pushes just enough.

​

I know that without his help I would not have continued this journey I would have continued the unhealthy lifestyle I was living previously. I decided that living life to the fullest and for the longest possible time I could was the way I want to be.

​

Johnny has really helped me commit to a lifestyle change and life changing journey. He is always there when needed for advice and diet help, he has been there and knows how it feels. Today I weighed 89.9 kgs and now wear size 14.

​

I have so much energy and exercise is now a part of my daily routine. I don’t eat sugar, I eat healthily, I am not on a diet, I have just made a fabulous lifestyle change!

I met Johnny Musumeci on my first day ever in a gym and he made me feel at ease straight away.  All of my fears were gone within five minutes of talking with Johnny, my “greatest ever personal trainer”.Having decided to lose weight and get healthy after years of hard living, with a clear goal to “lose my gut by my next wedding anniversary “,

 

Johnny jumped at the chance to help me achieve my goal. Since then, Johnny has not only helped me achieve my goal in the most relaxed, funny and supportive environment, but he has become a great friend and mentor in life as well.

 

Johnny scaled up my workout sessions as I got fitter, without pushing me too hard and guided me with small but effective changes to my diet without eliminating many foods. At the start of my journey I was 115kg.

​

No one was watching me, no-one cared if I had a sweaty face or could only use the cross trainer for a few minutes at a time. I began to see even more improvements.

​

Johnny was fantastic. He listened to what I said in training, adjusted my workouts to what I liked and didn’t like, and made sure I was staying on track. He gave me the knowledge and motivation to succeed. It was hard to begin with. My GOD was it hard! Some days I could barely walk. But it got easier.

​

As the weeks went on I actually found myself looking forward to my PT sessions. I had become one of those people who enjoyed exercise! And I never left a training session without hearing “great job today,” or “keep up the fabulous work, Emily!”

​

My whole life became more active. I was sleeping better, more focused at work and had so much more energy throughout the day. Even my everyday mood was much more pleasant.

I had known for a long time that it was long overdue for me to get back on the wagon, to go back to the gym and look after myself better. Working in the hospitality industry and having strange hours has always made it difficult to keep to any kind of routine. After being on my feet all day, the last thing i wanted to do was to get on a treadmill or make a healthy meal from scratch. 

​

Johnny told me, eat what the meal plan set out. So much of me baulking at fitness and healthy eating was my lack of knowledge and understanding about these things.

 

Having a supportive  was helpful as well. Johnny was able to work around my life and if i needed to reschedule there was never an issue, there was always a compromise available.

 

Looking forward to going to these sessions helped as well, not dreading the trainer or the work we did.

"I have always been an overweight person. I cannot exactly pinpoint the moment in which I realised I was obese; I guess I have always just thought of myself as fat. I used every excuse in the book to justify my weight. ‘I’m too busy’, ‘it is in my genes’, and ‘I was born with a slow metabolism’ were just a few of my favourites. Getting out of bed was a struggle. But in my head that was normal, I didn’t know there was another way. When John weighted me I was 115kg.

I soon found that my weekends were less about watching TV, drinking and being lazy, and more about bootcamp, hiking, kayaking and going on outdoor adventures. My whole life became more active. I was sleeping better, more focused at work and had so much more energy throughout the day. Even my everyday mood was much more pleasant. I am now weighing in at 86kgs"
